This year has brought many exciting in-studio milestones for the Schipper family.
In March, Lucy celebrated her first full year of life with a donut party. Most recently, the family welcomed the newest addition Zachary.
As I worked my way through these photos, I recalled Zach’s (dad) words at the beginning of our session, “We’re outnumbered” as the girls ran around playing with studio props and Tasha worked to get Zachary ready for his photo debut.
Zach and Tasha are officially the most wonderful kind of outnumbered.
As the oldest, Cora is already well accustomed to playing the big sister role. While it’s clear she adores her new brother, she was generally more concerned about posing pretty for me and the camera and earning stickers from the studio owner for good behavior.
It was fun to watch Lucy fawn over her new baby brother and adjust to no longer being the youngest. True to her personality, Lucy remained calmer, quieter, and made sure to stay close to Zachary the entire session. She was always prepared to snuggle with him at a moments notice.
This little boy is already SO well loved but is definitely going to have his hands full growing up with Lucy and Cora as big sisters. He’s such a patient little guy who hardly fussed at all during out time together, even when his sisters were hog piling him with love and kisses.
It makes me giggle to imagine how much his patience will be tested as the three kiddos grow older together.
This year has brought its fair share of challenges and hardships, but seeing this wonderful family continue to grow and capturing the love they share for each other has been one of the highlights for me as a photographer and gives me hope for better seasons ahead for us all.
